When Richard saw how I built this Erijoy website, he asked me for the best website program to create a simple one-pager website. My answer was: use carrd.co. After a few weeks of trying it himself, he was like: “Can you pleeease create this carrd website for me - it's not my thing :(“

So I did: www.helmrichs.carrd.co

8 days later, he got his first customer request through his brand-new website. That's what made me think: why not offer a package for a super simple website to more small businesses in Ericeira? So here we are :)

I can build you a simple one-pager website for €150 so you can send the link at the end of the day to your grandma.

The most common struggle I see with website creation is deciding which content to show - and then instead never starting to create one. That's why I think it's much easier to let me make a suggestion from the outside/customer perspective, and then you improve from there. I'll recycle graphics and text that you already have somewhere on the internet.

Ongoing costs? Usually for Wix, Squarespace, and Co you pay at least €13/month - I offer you to create a website in 3 hours for €150, and either:

(1) have €0 ongoing costs, as I can create up to 25 sites in my carrd account and use a free domain like “www.youcandothething.carrd.co”

or

(2) pay $19/year for your own carrd account + around $11/year for your custom domain, e.g. "www.youcandothething.com" = have $30/year of ongoing costs

I've been writing, choosing visuals, and building websites for almost 5 years now (see pictures) - mainly for 2 small Swiss teams: a medical software company 👩‍⚕️ and a piano store 🎹

How does it work?

Who is behind this?

I'm Svenja - I have the Ericeira bug since May 2022. When people ask me why I am so obsessed with Ericeira, I say: because it's like being in a village but with city people. So many smart, experienced people around, who love nature, sports, and fancy cafés (sorry, I don't want to be a hipster, but yea).

In April 2023, a local Uber driver in Ericeira recommended me that thing called padel tennis and since then I'm mainly a padel-girl. But you can also find me running and I want to start dancing again! During the day, I'm doing marketing for 2 small Swiss teams: a medical software company 👩‍⚕️ and a piano store 🎹

Why this site? Working in medical software companies is nice and useful. But I’ve been a manual therapist before and while it felt good to fix/care for a patient’s back pain, I always wanted to work on preventing medical issues. So my initial motivation for this site was to promote sports activities and healthy lunches.

Then my friend Zé came around the corner and started talking about how he really would like to build a platform where you can book all the things in Ericeira (like massage therapists, surf lessons or dog walkers). So in the end, with this site, we now combine his imagined booking platform and my healthy stuff :) Feel free to shoot any feedback to svenja+ze@erijoy.com
