Ericeira Coworking - cute cafés and proper offices, we have it all
Share with ya friend :)
I do have feelings for places you can put a laptop in .. while I have my phases in which I only crave proper safe coworking offices .. then again some months my heart desires to put my laptop every day somewhere new and mostly cute.
Here's how I categorise my feelings (situationships) with coworkings in Ericeira ..
1. when I wanna slave at an actually proper coworking
2. when I cannot stand people speaking to me, so here nobody gives a fuck that I am there or how long I stay
3. when I feel cute and wanna have laptop ocean-view
4. when I feel very cute and wanna have a fancy matcha and work for 2h
5. when I wanna be social and sweat with other remote people
Ericeira coworkings when I wanna slave at an actually proper coworking
1. Coastal Cowork

- if you want 1 answer then it's go to Coastal Cowork; it's one out of the two proper downtown coworkings and both of them are just about <€200 ish per month
- it's the only cute coworking in Ericeira you can use via the Croissant app .. the lowest tier is €35 ish for 10h/month to use flexibly at Coastal Cowork and all the Lisbon coworkings together; it's the perfect way to see over several days if you even like the coworking life
- don't expect mega community life, in the end you go there to get your shit done and be completely absorbed by your work, but good part is that I've heard male visitors noted that the kitchen is surprisingly clean compared to other coworkings; aka the ladies managing are doing a good job keeping it tidy
2. Kelp

- it's the other proper downtown coworking, so as well just about <€200 ish per month
- there is a rumour going on, that Kelp has more of a dudes vibe, while Coastal is more girly; mayyyybe true cause that represents the owners?
- anyway, Kelp has the most fun and useful group chat and some surfer dudes actually go surfing before/after work together
3. La Point

- here you'll find prooooper office chairs, proper silence, proper meeting rooms .. thing is it's just a lil outside of downtown. But it's a very good option if you live anyway in the south of Eri and potentially can walk there easypeasy
- they actually hide the coworking option on their website, but lucky you that the 2 of us are here, so I can tell you the trick: you have to write to eventos@lapointcamps.com and ask them .. the price is the same as the downtown coworkings, <€200 ish per month
- from time to time, there's something nice happening at the window (see pic)
Ericeira coworkings when I cannot stand people speaking to me, so here nobody gives a fuck that I am there or how long I stay
1. Intermarché

- go to the very back of the supermarket and then go upstairs to arrive to tables with beautiful ocean-view and nobody caring if you are there or not (will take a pic soon, for now just a lovely selection of sugary breakkis you can have)
- I have seen loooots of Portuguese ppl meet up there, cause breakki (<€5) and lunch (<€10) is just so cheap
- it's even very likely that you fall for the trap that they intended with this food paradise; after some laptop time you crave that 1 special fancy ingredient that no Aldi or Lidl has, so you go shopping at Intermarché
2. Teu Meu Super

- yes, another supermarket .. with !! ocean view !! again (didn't take a pic yet sry, and it's more of a mini fine line of ocean view)
- you pay a whopping total of 70 cents for a long black coffee and can hang there with - surprisingly - even sockets next to the tables <333 (which Intermarché refused to offer)
- kinda opens early from 8:30 am
3. The Library

- the one who doesn't open early is the library .. and it even takes a nap from 1-2 pm, so time your visit either for 10 - 1 or 2-7 :)
- here you get proper silence as expected in a library, but also no coffee which is for most people a similar major distraction from facing hard work tasks, aye
- sockets sockets sockets are there for you
Ericeira coworkings when I feel cute and wanna have laptop ocean-view
1. São Sebastião Bar

- the 1 ocean-view situationship kinda close to downtown where you can watch hot guys running by in between
- I started to open my laptop there and I had the feeling the owners were actually kinda happy that someone finally occupied the indoor space while the outdoors is usually crowded
- if I arrive one day and you stole my place .. I will see no other option but have coffee with you
Ericeira coworkings when I feel very cute and wanna have a fancy matcha and work for 2h
1. Hurley

- so yes, we also have the café/laptop dilemma in Ericeira .. don't stay too long if you don't order enough, but Hurley is cute and you can stay for 2h on ya laptop
- Hurley has a vibe; the surfer club vibe combined with a cowork vibe, so it comes quite close to what you were sold on Insta what a digital nomad life in cafés looks like
- there is a high chance you meet someone you know, so choose wisely and remember you can always escape to a supermarket if needed
2. Sunset Bamboo

- it's open "until late" (7pm), so I go there if I wanna hang on my laptop for a bit later in the day
- can recommend the pancakes, quesadillas and the cinnamon tea :)
- nice comfy chairs and a sofa
3. 58 Surf

- it's a bit out of downtown, but they have an extra coworking table with sockets, so they kinda want you laptop-person there
- as a reward after the long work day, you can rent a surfskate board for 5 euros/h and wiggle your stress away
- sockets sockets sockets, yes
Ericeira coworkings when I wanna be social and sweat with other remote people
1. BreakPoint Tennis Club
- some guys took on the challenge to revive the tennis club, which lies in a gated community and by now they're one of the most socially active places in town .. check their Instagram: almost every day something is happening, from salsa to quiz night which you can do after cowork
- the owners actively promote coworking there to fill up the space during the day, which is good cause it means you can watch very cute tennis bois all day (and ask them for a tennis tip??)
- a lovely woman named Kate used to organise tennis & coworking sessions .. she made me play tennis for the very very first time in my life through one of her events; should we nudge Kate to organise them again? :) Keep up with her ideas by getting reminded on Luma (she's also done spa & coworking events and thinks about padel & coworking); the more demand she hears about the better
Buuuuttt, the cheat code to coworking joy is .. to cowork in a coliving .. aka cowork with the people you also live with. That's the sole reason I had a magical first few months in Ericeira .. because Sunago Coliving (now closed ;/) captured me. These days there are Três Bandeiras Coliving & Wild Souls Coliving who seem promising to create this kind of magic.
