Richard Helmrich is your man for exquisite, custom-made furniture to make your home special. His journey in interior design is deeply rooted in family tradition; his grandfather founded “Helmrich's Interior Design” in 1960 in Germany. Today, while his father and uncle continue to lead the company in their home country, Richard brings this rich heritage of craftsmanship and knowledge to sunny Portugal.

Whether it's custom-sized TV boards, tables, beds, wash basins, cabinets, room dividers, or other fine furniture, every project is unique. Working from his workshop in Caeiros (10-min drive towards Mafra) Richard uses premium woods such as Iroko (Kambala), oak, and other high-quality materials to meet your specific desires.

Every piece is crafted with precision and care, including custom inlays and adjustments to fit existing structures seamlessly. From initial planning and 3D visualizations to the final installation, Richard ensures a professional and transparent process every step of the way.

Who is behind this?

I'm Svenja and when people ask me why I am so obsessed with Ericeira, I say: because it's like being in a village but with city people. So many smart, experienced people around, who love nature, sports, and fancy cafés (sorry, I don't want to be a hipster, but yea).

You can find me playing padel, doing workouts and running, and in my heart I've been a dancer all my life. During the day, I'm doing marketing for 2 small Swiss teams: a medical software company⚕️ and a piano store 🎹

Why this site? Working in medical software companies is nice and useful. But I’ve been a manual therapist before and while it felt good to fix/care for a patient’s back pain, I always wanted to work on preventing medical issues. So my initial motivation for this site was to promote sports activities and healthy lunches.
